About community gardening
Community gardens have been called the "new village green," for good reason. Community gardens create common ground, accessible to all, for growing fresh vegetables, cultivating understanding, strengthening neighborhoods, and sharing the joys of gardening.
The American Community Gardening Association (ACGA) links 2100 gardens across the US and Canada, from large urban farms to tiny pocket parks. Based on nearly a half century of experience, we believe there isn't "one correct way" to garden in community: Instead, there are lots of right answers, depending on the neighborhood, local gardening conditions, and the space and people power available. Just as in ecology, we find strength, sustainability, and resilience in the diversity of our gardens and members. Visit About Us to find out more.
One thing is certain. Nobody can do a community garden alone. We need one another. Please join us.

ACGA conferences are legendary for being great fun as well as the best possible place to learn about community gardening, for newcomers and veterans alike. [LEARN MORE...]
For safety's sake, we will require all conference attendees to be fully vaccinated and to show proof of vaccination. We also will follow CDC recommendations including indoor masking at all times for all attendees, and social distancing. Please read our COVID-19 statement for more details, and please stay safe and healthy in your home gardens, too.

ACGA is a great place to ask questions and share perspectives about all aspects of community gardening.
