So, we just completed setup with Urban Harvest (urbanharvest.org) for the largest, 1-Day Fruit Tree Sale in the US. Tomorrow is going to be amazing - 4000+ trees into the community - BOOM! It was exciting to see the impact of a collective community effort, joyful volunteer coordination, and organized strategic planning, to create such a massive, outdoor retail setting. Upon finishing the day, I ponder heavily on the lasting, positive impact that comes with the planting of these trees - one's harvest, water mitigation, animal habitat, carbon sequestration, mycellial networks, generational legacy, soil remediation, (OK - I'm diving in deep - I hope you get the picture!), etc. I wonder what other cities have found great participation with the planting of trees within their local community. If you know, share. 👍🏼😊
