Beth Urban
Executive Director
Email
Beth Urban joined ACGA as Executive Director in May 2011. For the past 12 years, Beth worked at Communities In Schools of Central Ohio as the Director of Operations. While in that position, the organization started four new school gardens in their afterschool programs. Beth says that these programs were a great way to build a sense of community and teach the students about the value of locally grown food. Beth hopes to be able to build on her past experiences in community building to help further the mission of ACGA. As a lifelong organic gardener, she still struggles with how to keep her cats from sitting on all of her plants, and welcomes challenges both big and small.

Programs Manager
Email
Laura Lavid joined the staff of ACGA as their Programs Manager in May 2011. After completing 2 years of service with AmeriCorps, Laura continued her work in nonprofit organizations with Denver Urban Gardens as their Programs Coordinator. Additionally, she served on ACGA’s Board of Directors. She understands and deeply values the community development process necessary for successful community gardens. In 2010, Laura spent the year traveling, learning Spanish and WWOOFing (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) throughout South America. When not dorking out on gardens, she most likely will be found in the kitchen or reading a cookbook.
Vicki Garrett
Project Coordinator
Email
Vicki Garrett is ACGA's Project Coordinator. Vicki has been a lifelong organic gardener (but she doesn't promise to be any help with bugs). She comes to us with a Bachelors degree in Human Dimensions in Environment and Natural Resources and a Masters degree in Natural Resources. She has worked in farmland preservation, soil and water conservation, and she's pretty wicked with power tools.
Vicki believes there has never been a greater social and environmental need for community gardening and is excited about working with us.
