ACGA Committees & Members
ACGA is currently seeking member involvement in our committee work. Committees typically meet monthly via teleconference call. Meetings usually take no more than an hour. For more information, send an email with the name of the particular committee you are interested in to info@communitygarden.org.
Greening Review - If you have an interest in publications, writing, design, or photography, we invite you to join us as we produce our annual publication, Community Greening Review. We are in the early stages planning for our 2012 edition and are seeking additional members to assist us in the development.
Growing Communities Curriculum/Workshop - We are currently in the process of reviewing our Growing Communities Curriculum and Workshops. If you have used the curriculum, participated or facilitated a workshop, we would love your feedback as we strive to update the curriculum to ensure it is still relevant and effective.
Membership - What does it mean to be a member of ACGA? How can ACGA better serve its members? What are ways that ACGA can reach out to potential new members? How can ACGA's website better serve both members and the general public? If you have an interest in participating in these discussions, we invite you to join this committee.
Organizational Wellness - Are you interested in helping ensuring the sustainability of ACGA? Do you have an interest in fundraising, partnership development or human resources? If so, please join the ACGA Organizational Wellness Committee.
Public Policy - This committee works to influence public policy to encourage governments (local, state, federal) to increase support and resources for urban agriculture, including community gardening, and greening projects. The monthly calls enable sharing of policy activities and needs, including related to composting, 2012 Farm Bill, and organizing for statewide action.
Research Working Group - Join researchers and practitioners who are interested in furthering community garden research and its dissemination with a long-term goal of determining a research agenda for ACGA and ideas of how ACGA can support this agenda. We meet monthly and will start each call with a highlight of current research that is happening.
